By Stanley Collymore
Parenting is more than a mother
who knowingly or accidentally
conceives and later delivers in
an uncertain world a helpless
baby, she delightfully carried
its full term whether with or
not; the actual or any moral
support of a biological dad.
For true parenting: does embody
inculcating each of the essential
values that undeniably prepare
that once fragile infant, clearly
for the future robustness of its
adulthood; and you Teri: very
young in years as you clearly
were then, have significantly
rather logically, intelligently
and avidly sensibly not only
taken on, but also mastered
and fulsomely embodied in
its entirety, the distincively
rewarding totality, of what
is crucially the true genius
capability and beneficially
the virtuous and dedicated
skill, of genuine parenting.

Author's Remarks:
The original version of this poem was written by me and published on the 5 January 2013 with the title: The Astute Art Of Parenting, based on the observations of a near neighbour and very young single parent mum. The original poem was widely acclaimed.
This revisited version of that poem, 8 years on, is in tribute to this young lady, who has subsequently made a great success not only of her own life but also that of her biological son.
