Owen Seymour Arthur - A Barbadian par excellence!

By  Stanley Collymore

Few politicians on their death,
less so in the course of their
lifetime,  and especially so
during their own term of
office; and additionally
outstandingly too, as
a stupendously - so
transformatively
democratically
elected Prime
Minister, of
a patently
beloved
country

and thoroughly command
the natural abundant
and unassailable
respect, deep
adoration, consummate
love, and the utmost
confidence in what
they were doing
within and as
well outside
the visibly
critically
crucial
areas

that comprise the major
constitutional areas
of parliamentary
democracy as
you did and
will justly
be a part
of your eternal
legacy Owen
Seymour
Arthur!

Barbados' longest serving
Prime Ministe; similarly
too, its distinguished
and a very capably
administered in
that political
role, its official and a very
impressive as well as
an adeptly skilled
Parliamentary
Opposition
Leader.

But previous to all of this, an
outstanding Senator, elected
member of parliament for
the constituency of St.
Peter, that until his
voluntary resignation as
an MP, he continuously
held, and assiduously
served for well over
33 years. Next, to
fittingly excel in
an appropriate
appointment
of a learned
Academic

at the Cave Hill Campus in
Barbados: a constituent
part of the University
of the West Indies while also
serving as a distinguished,
highly successful, a most
commendable and, as
well, an irrefutably
too in the process
an impressively
commited and
key Caricom
Statesman!

(C) Stanley V. Collymore
9 August 2020.

Author's Remarks:
Achievements galore to remember you endearingly for Sir, and I'm absolutely sure that every patriotic Bajan will do just that!

So this is not goodbye my friend, and fellow Bajan, but rather an earnest au revoir to you until we meet up again with you in the After-life, our now departed but distinguished leader.

Prime Minister, mentor, fellow Bajan patriot, dedicated CARICOM coordinator and statesman and an eternal friend. The late Right Honourable Owen Seymour Arthur.

With your work on Earth now completed, rest in eternal peace with the Angels in what's now your similarly celestial heaven!

The late former Prime Minister the Right Honourable Professor Owen Arthur is to receive a state funeral on Friday the 14 August 2020. The service will commence at 2PM at St. Peter's Church with the burial at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Previous to the aforementioned events the body of the deceased will lie in state at the 1639 established and continuously, thereafter, ongoing 381 year old Barbados Parliament, located in the country's capital Bridgetown, on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August 2020 between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM.
